Exploring Species Distribution Models
On Mondays, I travel out to Rutgers University and collaborate with members of Dr. Julie Lockwood's lab. This semester, we're working on learning techniques for modeling species distributions. We're using a helpful book by Dr. Janet Franklin called Mapping Species Distributions: Spatial Inference and Prediction. Next week we'll be delving into a chapter that discusses machine learning, a helpful framework that allows us to understand the mechanisms behind species distribution model software.
